TI250 Inverter, Universal and North American AC Outlets offer much-needed power to EFBs and electronic devices in the cockpit

HAMBURG, Germany — True Blue Power, a leader in the design and manufacture of advanced power solutions, announced today that the company’s TI250 DC-to-AC Inverter and AC power outlets received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Supplemental Type Certification (STC) on all Boeing 737 700/800/900 series aircraft. Through this approval, airlines can now add much-needed, cost-effective AC power to the cockpit, allowing pilots to charge Electronic Flight Bags (EFBs) and other electronic devices without the need for adaptors or frequent and expensive upgrades to outdated power connectors and charging ports.

“This STC provides airlines and 737 operators with a long-term, cockpit AC power solution that eliminates the need for future upgrades as electronic devices change,” said Tom Genovese, Director of Commercial Airline Sales for True Blue Power. “The cost of the STC kit, which includes our TI250 inverter, two AC outlets, the installation kit and wire harness, is about 25% less than similar solutions offered by the OEM.”

TI250 (250-watt) DC-to-AC Inverter

The TI250 currently provides AC power in more than 700 commercial aircraft worldwide. The inverter produces 250 watts of power from the 737’s 28-VDC input. Engineered to run cooler and featuring a fanless design, the inverter saves energy and reduces weight, making it lighter and smaller than competing units.

Universal and North American AC Power Outlets

True Blue Power’s AC outlets provide pilots with convenient, reliable access to power. The outlets are available in North American, three-pronged, and Universal versions. Rated up to 15 amps of power each, they can be easy installed and eliminate the need for constant upgrades to meet power requirements of newer electronic devices.

The TI250 DC-to-AC Inverter and the AC outlets will be on display at the True Blue Power exhibit #4D41 during Aircraft Interiors Expo, April 2 – 4, at the Hamburg Messe in Germany.
